About Rihai Foundation

A Trust Built on Justice, Compassion and Freedom

Rihai Foundation is a charitable trust working for one simple but urgent cause - helping poor and undertrial prisoners secure bail. Across the country, thousands of people sit in jail for months or even years, not because a court has found them guilty, but because they cannot afford a lawyer, cannot arrange a bail bond, or simply have no one to speak up for them. We exist to close that gap. Our team works directly with prisoners, their families, lawyers, and courts to move cases forward, arrange bail bonds, and make sure legal support reaches people who would otherwise be left behind. We believe that justice delayed because of poverty is justice denied, and every case we take up is a step towards changing that.

Standing By the Undertrial Poor

  • We identify prisoners who need help, verify their case details with lawyers and jail authorities, and connect them to bail support, legal counsel, and a support network that stays with the family from the first hearing to the day their loved one walks free.
Our Approach

From Understanding a Case to Delivering Freedom

Every case begins with careful verification, moves through focused legal action, and ends with follow-up that lasts well beyond the day bail is granted. Through careful planning, honest communication with families, and transparent use of every donation, we turn compassion into practical, lasting freedom for those who need it most.

Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure that no undertrial prisoner remains behind bars simply because they cannot afford bail or legal representation, by providing bail assistance, legal aid, and support to their families.

  • To identify, verify, and support genuine cases of poor undertrial prisoners in need of bail.

Our Vision

A justice system where bail and legal representation are available to everyone, not just those who can afford them, and where poverty is never the reason someone stays in jail.

  • Our vision is to help 100+ undertrial prisoners this year secure bail and rebuild their lives with dignity.

Our Values

We work with honesty, transparency, and accountability, building trust with the prisoners and families we serve, and with the lawyers, courts, and partner organizations we work alongside.

  • Guiding every case we take up, so that trust is never misplaced and every donation reaches the people it is meant for.
Frequently Asked Questions

Helping You Understand Our Work Better

We've gathered answers to the questions we hear most from families, volunteers, and donors, making it easy for you to understand how bail assistance works and how you can be part of it.

Our mission is simple - to make sure no poor or undertrial prisoner stays in jail only because they cannot afford bail or a lawyer. We help arrange bail bonds, provide legal aid, and support families through the entire process until the person is released and reunited with their loved ones.

You can get involved in several ways - by donating towards bail bonds and legal fees, by volunteering your time or legal knowledge, or simply by helping us spread awareness about the cases we support. Reach out to us through our contact page and we'll guide you to the option that fits you best.

Yes, we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, not just lawyers and paralegals. Training and guidance are provided so you can help with case documentation, family support, or awareness work, even if you have no prior legal experience.

Rihai Foundation is based in Vrindavan, Mathura, and our team works with prisons, courts, and families in and around this region. As our volunteer and lawyer network grows, we aim to extend bail assistance and legal aid to more cases beyond our current reach.

We track every case from the day it is identified to the day bail is granted, and we stay in touch with families afterwards to see how they are doing. Our impact is measured in bail cases resolved, families reunited, and the number of people who go on to rebuild a stable life after release.

Cases usually reach us through jail visits, referrals from lawyers and courts, or direct requests from families who cannot afford legal help on their own. We prioritize cases where the person is poor, undertrial, and has no other means of arranging bail.

You can follow our blog and social media pages for real stories, case updates, and news about our work. You can also reach out to us directly by phone or email, and we're happy to share updates on the causes and cases you support.

Yes. If you'd like your donation to go specifically towards bail assistance, legal aid, or family and rehabilitation support, just let us know when you get in touch, and we'll make sure your contribution is directed to that program.

Hear from the families, volunteers, and lawyers whose lives have been touched by our work. These are the people who have seen firsthand what a small act of support can mean for someone waiting behind bars.

"Rihai Foundation helped my brother get bail when we had no idea where to even start. We didn't have money for a lawyer or even for the paperwork, and their team guided us through every step with patience and care until he was finally released."

Dinesh Kaushik

Family Member

"As a volunteer lawyer with Rihai Foundation, I've seen how much of a difference small legal support can make in getting someone out on bail. So many cases drag on simply because no one is there to file the right paperwork - it's honest, dedicated work that changes lives."

Neeta Sinha

Volunteer Lawyer

"I donate every month because I know exactly where my money goes - straight into bail bonds and legal fees for people who have no one else to turn to. Seeing the updates on cases I've helped support makes it feel personal, not just a transaction."

Karan Gautam

"After my husband was granted bail with Rihai Foundation's help, our whole family could finally breathe again. He had been away for months and we didn't know where to turn - now our children have their father back home. We will always be grateful."
